Aichi Prefecture has Hamana Lake. It is very popular for the best Charcoal broiled eel. And Nagoya is the capital city of Aichi Prefecture, their typical food is it on the nice cooked rice. First, straight to eat, second, with some wasabi or sea weeds, third souse with great soup. It is called Hitsumabushi. It is so tasty. This time, we ordered to Nagoya to send. Hokkaido is the Northern big island of Japan. Their typical food is sea food and nice milk products. This time, I ordered "Double Fromage" cheese cake. It is so popular in Japan. Two kind of cheese made me happy for several times.
These days, you can hear the news about that some of Japanese rice company sold tainted rice for use as edible rice products to the Sake & Shouchu company. I will try to get the nice Sake or Shouchu not made with contaminated rice with the bad company.
What is Unagi?
Unagi is one of the edible fish. Some countries ban people from eating Unagi (eels) because their skin is slippery and awkward-looking, however, els have been eaten since the Jomon period (around 1100-300 B.C.) in Japan.Since a new cookery of eels, splitting and grilling an eel to remove fat effectively (Kabayaki), was introduced in the middle of the Edo period (1603-1867), Unagi became one of the fancy meals for Japanese. Hitsumabushi has three ways to eat. At first, have it as it is. Secondly, have it with some seasonings, for example; wasabi, laver, a green onion. Finally, have it after pouring Japanese tea or broth.
